Glanmire 4

                                                       Wed.11th saw a huge crowd of four hundred and ninety nine turn out for this race whilst there were also races in Fota and more races tonight in Carrigtwohill and Coolagown.
We were very well represented with a fine number of athletes and some had fantastic runs. First home for us was Fergal O'Meara in a time of 24.52 and it must have been some battle with John Cashman who came home in 24.53. They were follow closely by a man running very well at the moment Morgan O'Regan in a time of 25.10.Next came one of our fastest improving athletes Derek Aherne in a time of 27.05. This helped Midleton take 3rd team. with Fergal, Morgan and Derek whilst John Cashman took the 0/45 prize. John O'Halloran took an O/60 in a time of 29.04 and it great to see Shane Gannon back and running injury free coming home in 28.52. Ester Murphy was our first female in a time of 29.14. Mark O'Reilly also had a fine run as had Donie O'Connell and Ian Kohler who I assume from their times got category prizes .Alan Morley also had a good run.
