Waterford Half Marathon

Great running again this morning from two of the club's members who ran the Waterford Half Marathon. Don Ryan finished in a great time of 1.30.58 (90.58) and Margaret Jones in 1.40.30 (101.30) . One must also remember that both of these runners raced Shanagarry last Thur night.Yes the night before last and then a half marathon today.

"It was a night but what a night"
It was an absolutely great night for Midleton AC Thur. night in Shanagarry where history was made. There was great running by all our members with some fantastic times being achieved and lots of PBs
Karen Grant continued on her winning ways and was the first lady home overall whilst Helen Gilroy proved once again what a superb athlete she has become and gained her highest ever placing in the series coming home 3rd overall. Margaret Jones also had a super run finishing 8th overall and 1st O/45 and bringing the Ladies Team the 1st Team prize. This is the making of history with such high placing's and results. Anna Doris completed the ladies fine achievements by coming 2nd O/40 with another fine run. To top things off Eileen Leahy came home 1st Jnr with a great run. I don't think our Ladies ever achieved such fantastic results before.
Whilst many of our men had fine runs and PBs the only prize winner was Neilus Ahern again coming 1st O/55.
Amongst those who got PBs were Margaret Jones (yes I know again) and Vicki Cleary who had a fantastic run and got home breaking the 37 min barrier in a time of 36.43. Great running Vicki . Derek Ahern knocking 15 secs. off his Ballyandreen time whilst running this course for the first time. Louise Barry, Aoife Jones and Rayleen Dolphin also had brilliant runs.
Another lady who had a fantastic run was Gillian Bransfield who manage to knock a minute off her previous PB and break the 39 min barrier and come home in a time of 38.41 which on this course is great going. Just again goes to show that the hard work of Mon Nights pays off.
Well done to everyone and anyone with individual PBs etc please let me know and I will post it. Whilst the above might seem we are only interested in the prize winners we are just as interested in your individual achievements so please let me know as I cannot possibly know everyone's in the club's PBs etc So lets hear from you.
