Reminder

There is no official training on Monday evening (Bank Holiday) but Donie suggests that if people want to meet up at Midleton Hosp @ 6pm they should do the same session as last week. 20 mins of hills followed followed by 2 x5 mins speed with 2 mins recovery.

Best of luck to everyone running this weekend

Ballybunion Half Marathon

A big congrats to Eugene McCarthy (1.26.44) who finished 2nd O/40 in the Ballybunion Half Marathon and also to Maire Walsh who did 1.44.29 making her 7th woman home overall whilst Eugene was 8th man home. He describes the course as both beautiful and brutal and despite the fact that it is tough it deserves more support. They had fast registration, closed road, plenty of water on the course, tech.t shirt, medal and also fruit, sweets and even chicken curry at the end. All the money raised goes to Coast Rescue Service but its not very well supported. As Eugene says Midleton AC did their bit anyway but its certainly one to remember for next year. Well done to both of ye.
