Centra Kinsale Road 5Km



The first running of this new race on the calendar took place last evening and a total of five hundred and fifty runners took part. Showing there is a big turnout for the BHAA shorter easier races. We has a good turnout from the club with good results with Sheila Buckley coming 5th Lady overall Helen Leonard 1st O/40 and Marie Gillman once again 1st O/50 and the ever solid Joan Hough 1st O/55. Our men also had fine runs with Noel O'Regan taking 3rd O/45 in 18.12 Christopher McCarthy also had a great run with 19.39 whilst Sean O'Sullivan came home in 18.40. Two PBs on the night were Paul Geary with 20.18 and Derek Aherne with 19.47. Well done guys.The race took place over the usual Marina circuit which is a fine flat course which could also account for the large attendance.This was the final BHAA evening race and the next on their calendar is the Cork to Cobh 15mile in Oct.
