Clonmel Half Marathon
The Boston Scientific Clonmel Half Marathon took place on Sunday and bringing back old days we had a fine crew there and most had good runs. Run of the day must go to Bernie Twomey who did a triathlon yesterday and a half marathon today. Margaret Jones also had a fine run doing 1.37.42 which is excellent considering she was very recently unwell and our only prize winner was Helen Gilroy who took 2nd O/45 and it is really great to see Helen coming back into form after her recent injuries.
Our men had great runs too with Fergal O'Meara and Sean O'Sullivan both breaking the ninety minutes and unfortunately Michael Murphy pulled up at the six mile mark with a tight calf. Michael McNamara had a super run with 1.53 and was delighted with the whole event.
Thanks to Martha McNamara for the photos,

A great race in Cobh again Friday evening organised by Ballymore Cobh AC and how wonderful it is to see this famous club back on its feet with very large amount of new members. The race was superbly stewarded and a great spread after.
All of runners had great runs with Sheila Buckley coming 4th Lady overall and Mary O'Keeffe getting 1st O/45 and Joan McCarthy 1st O/55.
Our men also collected prizes with John Cashman 2nd O/55 and Neilus Aherne once again 1st O/55 (it must be his magic massages he gives himself) Paul Kearns also had a fine run whilst Christopher McCarthy broke the 26min barrier and got himself a PB of 25.28 which is good going on not an easy course.
