At least five of our members faced the wind and the rain today and headed to the Bandon 5 Mile. Whilst some of the long time regulars stayed away. We had some great runs under very trying conditions with Brian Harty being our first man home as expected he never looked at his watch all the way and got a PB by fifty seconds ( well done Brian the kid brother will want to start watching his back ) there was also some very fine running from David Moynihan, Ger O'Regan and Sean O'Sullivan.
The run of the day must surely go to Fionan O'hAodain who knocked over three minutes off his PB. This is a great start to the new year for him showing that all the hard work he has been putting in is starting to pay off. A three minute PB or any PB after the Xmas break and under todays conditions is surely a great omen for the year ahead and a very well deserved bonus for a great clubman and athlete.
