Another massive crowd and a brilliantly organised event in the Marina tonight Tuesday. Once again we had a great crew out from our club and we took a fair share of prizes. Neilus Aherne 2nd O/60 and our ladies were on form also with Helen Gilroy 1st O/50 and Marie Gillman 3rd O/50 whilst Margaret Barry took 1st O/65. Well done all who ran so well and to Chris McCarthy who got a new PB of  18.58.

As most of you are probably aware, I’m running the Cork City Marathon in full paramedic gear in aid of East Cork Rapid Response. Very best of luck to Noel O'Regan and John Carey who are heading out to the European Championships in Portugal this weekend. These championships are a great opportunity to get a flavour of big international competition without the need to go long. The two lads are both doing the olympic distance race, hope it goes really and they enjoy the competition and the atmosphere.

WEEKEND RUNAROUND

There was some great running out there tonight in Ballyandreen from all our athletes.
Our first man home was Brian Harty and so good to see him getting back into form likewise our first lady Sinead Keavney just back also from injury. Its great also to see Helen Gilroy  getting into form in time for another great season.
And again another amazing run from David Moynihan but the thing that seems to be on all our members lips is that the Monday evening training is really paying off with so many people getting PBs from our fastest to the slower runners everyone is improving leaps and bounds and it all comes down to the expert coaching and advice we are providing as a club under the guidance of Donie Walsh.
