WEEKEND RUNAROUND

Emer Casey 10Km

Another great Emer Casey 10 kM in less than ideal conditions as there was a very heavy shower of hailstones not long after the start but it saw some great running.
Unfortunately at certain points of the race runners did not know where or which side of the road to run. Traffic was fast and dangerous and someone could easily have been injured.
I have supported this race from its inception and will continue to do so as Emer was a wonderful lady and its a great cause and overall a very wonderful event but the traffic situation and the safety of runners needs to be looked at.  Our prize winners were Sean O'Sullivan 3rd O/45 and Mark Walsh 1st O/55 . Aoife Fouhy got herself a new PB of 45 min knocking 50 seconds off last years time. Danny

 Where do I go says David who is a serious runner and deserves better.

Fota 5Km ++++

A total of eight hundred and twenty eight runners took part last evening in the Fota 5Km and it saw some fine runs from our members including a well deserved PB for Edwin Cashman (13th overall). One of the highlights of the evening was Gillian Bransfield taking 3rd O/35. This was Gillian's first ever prize win on the roads and well deserved it was. Breda Sheedy took 1st O/45 and once again Ian Kohler 1st o/70. There are far too many fine runs to mention them all but full results are available at https://eagleac.net/race-cheetah-run-fota-wildlife-park/2016-results/
