Cloyne 5km on Tuesday Next
This is always a great night and race organised by our club mate Margaret Twohig and is well worth supporting. For details of pre entry which is always a great help to the organisers please see below and try and avail of it if at all possible.Danny
The annual Cloyne 5k Road Race takes place Tuesday 2nd August @8pm. It would be great to see as many as possible of you if you can make it.
If it helps, we will be doing pre-registrations in two venues, Cloyne National School OR Tesco’s Shopping Centre Market Green the night before (Bank Holiday Monday night) . Members can register in either venue from 6.00-8.00pm.

Conna 5km
Once again we saw some great running in Conna 5 Km on Friday night with David Moynihan
finishing 4th male (and a well deserved Prizewinner) in a time of 18.14 and Edwin Cashman in a time of 19.13 and our sole lady rep. Margaret Twohig took 1st O/45 in a time of 25.37.
Well done all and it must be remembered that all three ran in Churchtown South 5 Mile the previous night.
It probably feels like only yesterday that you were proudly crossing the finish line during the Weir Venloop. Nevertheless, registration will commence on Monday 12am for the races on Sunday 26 March 2017! In this newsletter you can find practical information about registering for the 12th edition of the Weir Venloop. Please take the time to read the newsletter this weekend, so that when the clock strikes 12 on Monday morning you will be fully prepared and ready to register.
Entries for this race open this weekend. We had a crew there last year who really enjoyed it. If you are interested in further information please contact Michael or Martha McNamara at 0868241519 as there is a group being organised to go again this year.
Churchtown South 5Mile
Once again another great night for our club with lots of
great runs and lots of PBs and of course as we have come to expect lots of
prizes. Lots of fun too with many smiling faces happy to be doing the series..
Some of our results were Sinead Keavney 1st O/35 ( 4th
Lady overall) , Anne Geary 2nd O/35, Esther Murphy 1st
O/40, Michelle McGrath 2nd O/45, Helen Gilroy 1st O/50,
Margaret Barry 1st O/65 and to top that off our Ladies got 1st
Team with Sinead Keavney, Helen Gilroy and Esther Murphy ). That’s some haul for
the club along with the load of PBs.
Note Some people seem confused as to what a PB is. It stands
for Personal Best ie the fastest time you have ever run for that distance and
SB means Seasons Best the fastest time
one has run for that distance in the current season. You will see lots of these
terms on your TV screens in the Olympic line ups.
