A total of two hundred and eighty runners ran in Cloyne on Tuesday evening (about one hundred down on last year) but considering the number of races on this week is still a great crowd. As usual the race was superbly organised. The finish between Alan O'Shea and Paul Moloney was one of the most exciting I have seen on the road in a long time with O'Shea winning out by one second in the end in 15.11.
Our first man home was Michael Abernethy who once again got a PB with 18.38 and our first woman home was Sally Drennan who got 1st O/50.
Other prize winners were Joan Hough who got 1st O/60 and Mick Murphy 2nd O/45. Midleton AC also took the two 1st Jnr prizes with Allanah Drennan and Jack O'Shea. We had a fine crowd from the club there and Paul Geary also got a PB as did Don McDonald. Also a big well done to the fine crew of supporters we had out there. Danny
