East Cork Road Championships
Individual Silver and Ladies Team Bronze
Tamzin Muldowney Wins Silver
Ladies Team win Bronze
We had a fantastic night in Ballynoe last night at the East Cork Road Championships where our ladies came away with individual Silver for Tamzin Muldowney and Bronze for our Ladies Team of Eileen Leahy, Allana Drennan and Caroline Geary.
Tamzin who has just moved up to the Junior ranks this year was running her first ever road race and what a success she made of it. Running a brilliant race from the start she held her position solidly and wound up taking a very well deserved silver.
Our ladies team packed well together and pushed all the way and worked really well to take the bronze medals. Remember in these races individual medal winners do not count on teams.
All our men ran well over a tough and gruelling course and for me one of the highlights of the night was seeing Mike Dorney being surrounded by his ten or twelve cheerleaders (as he called them) coming up that hill for the fourth time.
It epitomised what a wonderful Team Spirit this club has and there we definitely won Gold. Bye the way we also had loads of fun.
It was great to come away with medals especially on the 40th running of the championships.
Well done all and a huge thank you for coming out and supporting YOUR club.
