WEEKEND RUNAROUND

Manchester Marathon

Results in from Manchester show Trevor Condon finished in 3hrs 7min and getting a PB by 19mins whilst Derek Aherne 3.08.44 got a PB by two minutes. Derek suffered from cramps for the last four miles and had to revert to plan B  and still managed a PB. Any runner that can manage that is really a great runner. Well done to both of you guys .Your club is truly proud of ye both. ENJOY THE CELEBRATIONS .

The Sonia O'Sullivan Cobh 10

Two wins and a second for our club.

We had a fine crew from the club running in ideal conditions on Sunday morning and we once again had lots of prize winners.
Kevin Smith was our first man home and Helen Gilroy our first lady. Maurice Ring got a PB.Special mention for Maire Walsh who acted as pacemaker for the race. Great creditis due to anyone who gives up their own race to help others. We had some prize winners also Helen Gilroy 1st O/50, Martha McNamara 1st O/55 and Mark Walsh 2nd O/55.

John Cashman after receiving his medal for the County Roads Championships. By the way John managed the Castlemartyr  U21 team who won the East Cork B Championship on Saturday in which his two sons played. Showing he is not just a great runner, great broadcaster but a great manager also.

The Prize Winners

Best of luck to everyone doing the above tomorrow and just remember you are only doing 10 whilst Derek and Trevor are doing 26.2 in Manchester..
