WEEKEND RUNAROUND
Midleton 5 2021 - Race week
Race week is here and we’re looking forward
to hosting our special edition, club members only, Midleton 5 race on Thursday
evening. We ask all participants to read the following carefully, to be mindful
of the ongoing restrictions, to help us with the running of this event and to
keep all participants safe
1.
We ask members to register online
using the following before 8pm on Tuesday 5th May. https://www.midletonac.com/events
https://form.jotform.com/211156834543353
2.
All runners will be allocated a
specific start time on race night based on the information given to us via your
registration form.
3.
Start times and running groups will
be published before 6pm on Wednesday
4.
A Midleton AC registration table
will be located outside Midleton Fitness (near the start line on Dwyer Road).
Runners are to sign in here (but please register online). Please wear a mask
while at the registration table
5.
Race starts and finishes at the
usual Midleton 5 start and finishing places. We will have personnel at start
and finish lines. The road will be marked so please follow the arrows on the road.
6.
Once finished, please return to the
Registration table to register your time, to collect your belongings along with
your commemorative Snood, a bottle of water and a chocolate bar. Please do hot
‘hang around’ this area though as we do not want to have large groups gathering
on account of this event.
7.
Prizes will be presented at a club
training session next week (TBC).
8.
Club members that are not in
Midleton on Thursday 6th can run the race virtually and will be
eligible for any of the prizes - apart from the cups! The winning cups are
specific to runners that run on the course on that night.
9.
We need a number of Marshals. Please
inform the club if you’re available to help for any half hour / hour period on
the night. The areas where personnel are needed include the start and finish
line, the area by the roundabout near Gaelscoil and at the farm near mile 2.
Thank for your help and cooperation in this and we
look forward to welcoming you all, in a socially distant and safe way, on
Thursday 6th May.
A big well done to Aoife Cooke who qualified for the Tokyo Olympics last weekend here is an interview with her with Barry Drake on CRY104FM
