Charleville Half Marathon

This took place on Sunday morning in very humid conditions
Mark Cronin was our first man home in 1.31.52 showing he is in great condition for his upcoming Berlin Marathon. He was followed by David Curtin 1.53.35, Martha McNamara 2.00.21, Marie Gillman 2.00.26, Bernie Twomey 2.12.59, Fionan O'hAodain 2.12.59 and Amanda Cooney 2.20.00 Well done all.
Cross Country
We had three runners at the St Finbarr's AC Open Cross Country today Meadhbh Campbell, John Cashman and Barry Drennan and all ran extremely well It was Meadbh's first race post baby and she brought her support crew with her.

Club Training
The new club season kicks off in earnest next week…..the club provides members with TWO official training session per week, there are lots of other training sessions with various What's App Groups

STUCK IN!
Monday @ 6pm - Speed Training with Donie assisted by Danny in
the Cricket Field. This is speed training, in groups, which
should be used to improve your race pace in the build up to your target race.
This is suitable for all levels as it is designed by time rather than distance
so no one is left out. Donie is also available to give individual programmes if
required. Currently we are doing hills to prepare for the cross country and the
longer distance races that are coming up.
We will move to the All Weather Hockey Pitch on 2nd Oct
at 6pm
Wednesday @ 6.30pm – two groups “Couch to 5k” AND “all-others”,
meet up at the main shop entrance to the Co-Op Stores in Market Green.
This NEW TIME of 6.30 is in response to a popular demand for an
earlier start to training.
The "all others" group warm up and limber/stretch for 15
minutes before heading off for group runs at various suitable paces
and distances. This will be let by Edmond.
This is a nice social run and is where most of you started and made friends.
We encourage you to do the same for others who have joined since and need to be
made feel welcome. . The “all others” group will do hill/pace/fartlek/interval
training, all vitally important to complement your speed work AND to offer
varied training with your running colleagues.
The C2 5K is a new group starting up and is strictly for beginners or
those returning to running after a long absence. It is led by Amanda, Caroline
and Danny and is where many of our new members start. Please PASS THE WORD to
anyone you think might be interested.
New members are always welcome and can try out a session or two to see
if it suits them.
