UPDATES
Hi All
We always like to get updates from our members regarding
their race
activities and also their race experiences and we
congratulate all on
their recent achievments. Glad to say we have some
updates along with an
invitation also from Emmet Ronan regarding a
training run on Saturday next
commencing at 10am at approx
7.30 pace from Community Centre. Please see
all details below. We
encourage members to keep us updated on their race
action during a very
busy summer period as it is impossible for either
Peter (Gunning) or
myself to be aware of all events.

FROM MARY
TOHER
While other club members were blowing away post marathon
blues by short
course fever, I was out again taking on the Marathon
Challenge in
Waterford on June 30th, which was marathon
number six which started with
the Brighton Marathon on April 30th. I had travelled to Waterford from
London via Coach/Ferry on Thursday night/Friday Morning, an 8 hour plus
coach journey
plus Ferry crossing. Completed Marathon on Saturday and
back
on the coach at 6.30 that evening for return journey back. Arrived
in
London at 8.30 Sunday morning, travelled
straight to brighton and took
part in the race for life 5km without
having slept the previous night.
On the Sunday after
Cork Marathon June 10th took part in the Hamstreet
10k.
Sunday 17th June
Staplehurst 10k, Sunday 23rd June Heathfield 10k,
Wednesday 27th Bexhill on Sea 5k. Wednesday 4th July Reigate
10km. Sunday
8th July the Nike
London 10k with 30,000 plus taking part, which took
place on the
forthcoming Olympic Marathon course, which was a privilage to
all who
took part. Still many events to come. So a Midleton AC member is
listed
in many result sheets in the UK. I was a category prize winner in
the
Cork City Marathon but unlike other club members sadly I am still
awaiting to receive my prize as published on the official results sheets
published by the Cork City Marathon.
Regards Mary
Toher.

FROM YVONNE
KENNEDY
Hi John
Just a note to let you know that i took
part in the Achill half marathon
at the weekend. Despite a windy start
and a hilly course,especially a very
tough uphill mile 10 i was very
happy with my time of 1:53.

Members Please Note
The club bears no responsibility for the collection or distribution of prizes from any race other than from our own race and AAI championship races also it is important to point out (as confusion has arisen in the recent past) that a person may be be placed in the official results of a race i.e. 3rd o/45 etc and there may not be a prize for that position.
Many races vary in the number of prizes they give but official results ie 1st,2nd,3rd are standard.
