WEEKEND RUNAROUND

Bweeng 5Km

Late report but very well done and great running to John Dunphy who did 19.25 today after a hard 5Km in Macroom Park Run yesterday. Good to see John settling back into running after his time on the bike. John got 3rd overall which just shows what this man is capable of when he knuckles down to running.

Lost Sheep

Some great results in from our crew at the Lost Sheep in Kenmare yesterday Noel O'Regan Club Capt. did a half marathon time of 1.27 which considering that its a tough and hilly course he managed to break the 5 hour mark overall. The great and very experienced John Carey did 1.45 for the half which is superb and Marc Dalton who is just back to serious training was happy with his overall time despite being a bit disappointed with his swim. Well done guys ye are really amazing.

Dingle Marathon
Report from Declan Dorgan

It was a beautiful day in Dingle for Marathon 2015. Conditions were perfect for running and a huge crowd (most doing the half) started on a loop of Slea head at 9 this morning Sept 5th. I started well. Tried to hold myself back as much as i could but youthful exuberance(!) and not paying that much attention got the better off me and i ended up averaging sub 7.30 for the first half (1hr 39). I knew the second half was going to be that bit tougher (some big hills) but i also got very tired. Second half was a long, tough, lonesome affair! I finished the race in a time of 3hrs. 34 min. It wasn't my best effort ever in Dingle and i didn't expect to tire and struggle as much as i did in parts. ....but I've finished fine and no injuries! All in all, lessons have been learned and it was a good workout. A lot of work to be done though before Dublin. The real training starts now! Thanks to all for messages last night and this morning. Declan
Well done Declan you did yourself and your club proud as always
Danny

Best of luck to Marc Dalton and John Carey who are doing the Lost Sheep Middle Distance Triathlon and also to Declan Dorgan who is doing Dingle Marathon this weekend also. Declan has done every Dingle since it started and hopes to keep his record intact. Good luck also to everyone running this weekend.

Marc and John looking at the hill they have to climb tomorrow.
