Glountaune 4 Mile

Wednesday evening saw the running of the Glountaune 4 mile with a total of three hundred and twenty five runners. We had a fine crew running and all did very well. Aidan Heavin had a really fine run with 24.44 and was twenty fourth finisher overall Kris Dowdall also had a great run with 25.22. These two are constantly improving with every race. Sheila Buckley was our first lady with 26.34 having another good run and wad very closely followed by Eileen Leahy in 26.39 like our men these ladies are after a great season.
Next came Joseph McCarthy recently returned from International Rugby duty with a time of 28.36 he was followed by the constantly improving Gillian Bransfield  (30.29) who is a prime example of putting in the work paying off. Next came solid as always Bernie Twomey with 31.33 followed by the just back from a broken wrist Esther Murphy in 32.50 and its just great to see Esther back in action after such  very serious injury to her hand. Siobhan Murphy and Siobhan Savage obviously worked well together to come home within a second of each other (33.08 &33.09) so good to see club members working together. Next came Amanda Cooney appearing for the first time under her newly married name ( Congrats Kevin and Amanda) in 34.42 which also gave her 1st O/50. Ian Kohler (m60) also had a fine run with 35.26 great to see you getting back there Ian. Margaret Barry had her usual solid as a rock fine run with 36.30 and took 2nd O/60. Well done all.
