WEEKEND RUNAROUND

CLOYNE 4Km Report Below

Captain's Run Christmas Eve at 10 am

Message from Club Captain Anna Doris

Inviting all Midleton AC members, your families and friends, to join us for the traditional Christmas Eve run at 10am outside Barryscourt Castle, Carrigtwohill.
The brainchild of former Captain, Edmond O'Sullivan, this year's event will be in aid of Marymount Hospice.  All donations greatly appreciated.
Edmond continues to generously offer facilities to provide a warm cuppa (with extra warmth if so inclined) for all.Bring all the family - there is a choice of a 5k or 3k run/walk - a lovely start to the Christmas festivities.
Hope to see you all then,
Anna, Mark & Edmond

If you cannot make the run and still want to make a donation to this very worthy cause we will have a box for donations at training on Monday and Wednesday nights. Danny

ClOYNE 4Km

Once again there was some great running in the Cloyne 4Km on Sunday morning. It was an ideal morning for running and we had some top class finishers. Details to follow.

Shanagarry 5Km

Another wonderful Shanagarry Christmas 5Km done and dusted and added to the history books. Today saw some top class racing and running. Well done all on some great times especially to Louise Barry who got a PB already reaping the dividends of her great cross country season.
Very special congratulations to our C2 5K group all of who made wonderful debuts today and the spirit of comradeship and friendship was great to behold. Really proud of ye all. Well done ladies and gent on some great runs and times. Ballycotton 10 here we come.

As Bob Dylan said "The Times They Are A Changing" there is even a fancy flyer this year so get there before there is an online entry next year. This race is/was one of the best kept secret races but growing in popularity every year, Highly recommended.

Local Races This Weekend.

Two excellent local races this weekend. Starting at 12 noon on Saturday is the Annual Shanagarry Christmas 5Km which is always popular and well organised. Then on Sunday we have the second in the Cloyne 4Km series starting at 9.30 am which is also a great race.

It was announced recently that the 2017 Cork City Marathon will be held on a Sunday! This is something which a lot of people have asked for and should be very popular. Since it started back in 2007, it has always been on the Bank Holiday Monday.

It should also mean that overseas visitors can take part in the race in Cork and then fly home for work on a Monday.

The 2017 Cork City Marathon will be held on Sunday the 4th of June.
