EAST CORK TRACK CHAMPIONSHIPS
Lots Of Medals For The Club
In what turned out to be a fantastic evening of racing in Carringnavar on Tuesday evening our club acquitted themselves really well and came away with a fine haul of medals.
First home was Frank O'Brien who was an easy winner in the 1500m whilst Ger O'Regan had another strong run and got Bronze for 3rd O/45. In the Ladies 100m Lovness Hegarty finished a very strong 4th and she also had a fine run in the 300m.
Michael Beirne also did the 100m and also came away with the Bronze Medal 3rd O/45 and unfortunately had to drop out of the 300m due to an injury, Whilst Frank O'Brien again showed his all round class taking Silver in the Senior 300m.
John Spellman also had another fine run in the Jnr 1500m.
In the Ladies 3000m there was a fantastic finish (see photo below) and Sinead O'Driscoll came away with Gold 1st O/35 whilst in the Men's 3000m Tony Forrestal had another great run and took a very close Silver medal.
In the relay our team of Eileen Leahy Sinead O'Driscoll, Ger O'Regan and Tony Forrestal all had fine runs and as this was a Fun Event there were no medals.
Thanks to all our runners and supporters and to those who were not there you missed out on a great night of running.
