Track & Field updates from weekend.

 

U20 & U23 National Track & Field Championships, Saturday August 3rd

 

Congratulations to Midleton AC Athletes Meabh Corkery, Odhrán O'Sullivan and Sean O'Riordan on their performances at the National U20 & U23 T&F Championships in Tullamore on Saturday August 3rd.

Odhrán was 2nd in the U20 800m in a time of 1:56.06

Sean was 3rd in the U23 Discus with a throw of 34.47m. He also finished 4th in the U23 Shot with a put of 10.16m

Meabh won the U20 Pole Vault with a vault of 3.30m 

National Masters Track & Field Championships, Sunday August 4th

 

Huge congratulations to Rod Scanlon finishing 4th place in a PB 2:19 in the M40 800m at the National Masters Championships in Tullamore on Sunday August 4th. Rod who only switched down to 800m a few months is hitting PB's on every outing and looks to be a natural at this event.

 

National League Final, Tullamore, Sunday July 28th 2024

 

We had a number of Midleton AC Athletes representing the East Cork Division Teams at the National League Final in Tullamore on Sunday July 28th.

 

The women's team which claimed a fantastic Bronze featured:

 

Maebh Corkery, Pole Vault

Leah Parker, Hammer and

Katie Hennessy, 800m & 4 x 400m Relay

 

The men's team who are getting stronger each year finished a brilliant 5th in a very strong county category, and featured:

 

Odhrán O'Sullivan, 800m, 4 x 100m Relay & 4 x 400m Relay

Wojciech Fraczek, High Jump, 4 x 100m Relay

Sean O'Riordan, Shot Put & Discuss
