LIMERICK 2025
Report from Rod Scanlan
This was a very well organised event with over 8,000 athletes taking part in the 6 mile race with the sun beaming down on us from the start. The race went off in 10 different waves and I managed to get to the front of the start line to get off in the first wave. There was huge crowds lining the whole course so plenty of support, water, garden sprinklers to cool us all down. Up to the 7k point I was on course for a sub 36 time but a couple of hills thrown in for good measure soon ended that. I finished in 22nd place overall in 36mins and 5th in the M35 category knocking 4mins off my PB from 2013. We managed to raise over €20,000 for Milford Care Centre so thrilled with that and a great event to finish it all.
Others who ran in Limerick were Amanda Cooney, Tony Murray and Francis Maunsell.
