Hi All

- Just a quick word from Ballintotis to say that preparations are at an advanced stage for this year’s ‘4’ Mile Road Race which will take place on Wednesday April 20th – 8pm. It is of course the first evening race of the 2011 and like last year the local committee are making a huge effort to ensure that the event will be a memorable occasion for all who visit the picturesque venue located just off the N25 between Midleton and Castlemartyr and adjacent to Loughaderra Lake.

Thanks to the support of nearly 450 runners last year, our committee made a sizeable contribution towards the local Ballintotis Area Community Council Building Project. At present we are hoping to begin work on building our Community Centre within the next few weeks, thus ensuring it will completed by the end of the year and in plenty of time for the Ballintotis ‘4’ in 2012.

This year we are making a very minor adjustment to the course, in order to allow for extra space at the start line. HQ is again at the Car Park of St Colman’ s Church in Ballintotis, next to where the race will also finish and is approx 200 meters from the start line. Entry again costs 10 euro and this time around each finisher will receive a souvenir tee shirt. Entry, refreshments and prize giving will all be based in the Car Park area. The race winner and first lady home will again each receive a bicycle whilst we have a wide selection of individual prizes covering all age categories.

. - Looking forward to welcoming the running fraternity to beautiful Ballintotis on Wednesday April 20th. On the previous week we will also organise a trial run around the course for Midleton AC members. More details to follow.

Best Regards

John Cashman
