Races This Week

There are two big races on the local calender this week Carrigtwohill 5Km tonight Monday which is a hugely popular race and a wonderful new addition to the calender in Conna on Thur. night at 8pm.The Conna race is 5Km and they have asked for our support on their first venture and hopefully everyone will be well recovered by then. It is only out the road a bit (even nearer than Cork).

The other two races are Novartis 5km in Ringaskiddy on Wed night. This is always a very well organised race over a reasonably tough course especially if you are looking for a time. Most will have run at least sections of this course as it takes in several bits of other races.
On Fri night there is the annual Kinsale 5mile which as I have said before is the fastest course in the county as a lot of it is downhill so if you are looking for a new PB this one is for you. Despite being downhill a lot of the way it is important for first timers to pace yourselves well as the final mile is harder than one thinks especially when one reaches the town.
