Corkbeg 4Mile

EAST CORK AC Corkbeg Whitegate 4Mile

Tonight saw the second running of this race which traditionally was a five mile but last year was dropped down to four. On what was a lovely evening for running a fine crew turned out for Midleton AC and all did very well. Our first lady home was Anna Doris who came 2nd lady overall moving up one place from where she came last year. Other prizewinners were

Margaret Jones 1st O/40
Bernie Twomey 2nd O/40
Helen Gilroy 1st O/45

Some great running girls remember Helen and Margaret were prizewinners again the previous night in EMC+

Neilus Aherne came 1st O/55 again a winner last night but I was delighted to see Kenneth O'Keeffe come 2nd O/45 picking up his first prize ever showing again that the hard work is paying off as he continues to improve with every race. Paul Spiteri had a fine run also in his first four mile finishing 10th overall. Brendan Cronin (Dev Squad) had an excellent run finishing in 30.40 again showing putting in the extra work pays.Lots of other members has fine runs also. The evening finished off with a great barbacue on the green in aid of Enable Ireland.
Ps Dont forget there is a nice 5mile in Dungarvan tomorrow evening @ 8 pm also a 10Km in Millstreet.
The Best Of Luck to Pat Walsh and any other of our members doing the Ring Of Kerry cycle this weekend.
