Sunday 24th of August in Midleton, Co. Cork - Morning run
 
The Midleton marathon will start at Fota Island Resort at 7am on Sunday 24th August 2014 and will finish in Midleton town on the main street.  This is the first ever marathon to take place in Midleton town. It is also the final event of the whole series and the home town of the two athletes taking on the entire 2068km Endurance Challenge. Each of the four distances will have chipped timing and enjoy the homecoming celebrations as you cross the finish line on teh main street of Midleton town.
Pre registration and late registration will take place in the Midleton Park Hotel (Jameson Suite) from 4 to 8pm Saturday August 23rd.
Marathon:
Beginning at 7am in Fota Island Resort, participants will enjoy this breathtaking multi-terrain route from the hotel helipad through the forest trail unitl exiting the resort and into Fota Gardens and Fota Wildlife. 17.5km/ 11.55miles of the first half of the marathon is spent on the island itself before exiting through the main gates of Fota Island Resort and on to Barryscourt Castle in Carrigtwohill via the Ballintubber West Road where the half marathon begins. The full marathon gives a truly unique experience that will offer runners the chance to experience a route that will mix beautiful scenery, landscapes, buildings and wildlife, finishing in the hometown of the two volunteer athletes, Sean Buckley and James Colbert.
€80 entrance - Includes technical t-shirt and medal on completion. All proceeds go directly to the charity.
Half marathon:
The half marathon begins at Barryscourt Castle in Carrigtwohill at 9am, with runners taking the immediate left for 200m to the adjoining Barryscourt Road. Then taking a right turn the runners continue south towards the Ballintubber T junction, Then taking a left tehy head east on the Ballintubber Road towards Midlton for 3.5km. Upon reaching the Ahanesk T Junction, runners will take a right turn joining the 10km route.
€50 entrance - Includes technical t-shirt and medal on completion. All proceeds go directly to the charity.
10km Route
The 10km route begins next to the Park Hotel in Midleton town at 10:00am and heads west towards Dwyer’s Road, continuing under the underpass to the Service Relief Road junction. Taking a right, runners will follow this road towards the Baneshane entrance where they will take a right followed closely by a left, heading west towards Carrigtwohill on the Ballintubber Road. Following this road for 1.5km runners will take a left at the Ballintubber/ Ahanesk Junction. From there you head south for 1.5km taking a left at Horgan's Corner, entering the Baneshane South Road. Runners follow this road for the next 2km until again reaching the Baneshane Entrance to the Service Relief Road. From here the 10km route will join the second half of the 5km route below. €25 entrance - Includes technical t-shirt and medal on completion. All proceeds go directly to the charity.
5k Route
Similar to the 10k route above the 5k route begins on Church Lane at 10.30am with runners again heading West towards Riverside Way where they will take an immediate right continuing towards the gyratory. From there you take an immediate left crossing the Cork Road Bridge and follow the Old Cork Road towards the roundabout on the junction of Market Green Roundabout. Runners will then go left, South towards Dwyers Road, continuing under the underpass to the Services Relief Road Junction. Taking a right runners will follow this road towards the Baneshane Entrance. This represents the half way point and where the 5k runners will then double back on the above route until reaching the gyratory where you continue through the Junction with Riverside Way, joining Midleton Main Street. 
Runners will continue to the Finish Line, just before the junction of Main Street and Church Lane.
