ENDURANCE CHALLENGE
What an amazing day. What an amazing
achievement by Sean and James. This is the stuff history is made of. These two
young men set out to complete this this incredible challenge and complete it
they did in style. To see them coming down Main Street, Midleton to the cheers
of the crowd and the relief and joy of their families was one wonderful
experience never to be forgotten. Whilst the two lads did the hard work of
cycling, swimming and running one must
not forget their amazing back up team of which Jenny Buckley and Sean Cooney
must deserve special mention. I met Sean out early yesterday morning trying to
find an extra few hundred meters for the 3km after his original route had been
changed but find them he did and Jenny coordinated the entries amongst many
other duties.
We had far too many out there today as a club
wearing our colours with pride supporting this very worthy cause to get into
every individual result but we had some great results. Simon Fitzgerald won his first race ever in winning the 5km and Anna Doris came 2nd in the half marathon followed by Sheila Buckley coming 3rd lady. Whilst young Ethan Hayes had a fantastic run coming coming 4th in the 10km whilst Brian Cott also had a great run and a PB coming 7th in the half. Joan Hough had a great run coming 2nd in the 5Km. and Esther Murphy had a fine win in the 10km, But rather than concentrating on our individual results full credit must go to Sean and James and their outstanding achievements .Well done everyone involved in any way .

The big one on the local scene this weekend must be the Endurance Challenge (see previous posts) and there is still plenty of time to enter (Saturday Midleton Park Hotel from 4pm) or if not running they would be delighted if you offered to help out. http://www.endurancechallenge.ie/
