Relay For Life
Message from Christine Murphy
“Reminder that we need volunteers to help with the Relay for Life on 24/25 August – there will be a sign-up sheet at training on Monday evening (cricket pitch) so that we can schedule people for the 24 hours. If you can’t make training please message Christine on 087 9873617 with the times that suit you as we need to get the timetable sorted this week.
If you are not around on the day, you can still help by sponsoring a candle bag – these will be on sale again on Monday evening (€5). We will have some illustrators on hand to decorate for you if you wish or you can take away to personalise with photo etc. if you prefer. Idea is you dedicate the bag to a loved one affected by cancer.”
Can we include the link to the relay facebook page as well please if people want more detail.
Thanks all
Christine

Helen Gilroy 5th Lady and Sheila Buckley 6th Lady
A very tough morning for running with the very strong wind that was out there. In the 10Km the wind was against the runners in the first half and behind then on the way back. Results in so far has Siobhán Ó'Leary 2nd lady overall with a brilliant run in the 10km race and a very fine run also by Derek Ahern who finished 16th overall. All our crew had good runs especially considering the conditions.
Whilst in the Half Marathon Helen Gilroy had a fantastic run to finish 5th Lady overall and 1st O/50 ( but unfortunately no category prizes in these races) whilst Sheila Buckley came 6th Lady. Whilst Declan Dorgan was our first man home in a fine run of 1.40.
