Once upon a time for a runner to ignore a smile or a greeting was the exception now it seems to be normal. Give our club a friendly face by greeting every runner you meet this weekend and even if they do not respond keep smiling.
Many years when there were less runners on the road the Great Joe Hourigan ( our race is name after him) had a smile that would light up the road and if someone did not respond to Joe's greeting they were the exception and Joe's response always was "What the feck is wrong with them ? sure we are all runners."
