Glanmire 4 Mile

We had a great crowd from the club here tonight (sorry I couldn't manage to get everyone's photo) in this the first running of the Glanmire 4mile, It was very well organised and very well stewarded which was vital as the roads were still open to traffic and quite busy. There was a total of two hundred and ninety nine runners took part. Our first man home was Brian Harty who finished 18th position overall and our first lady was Eileen Leahy who was 5th lady overall but still got no prize and she was also 1st Jnr and got no prize for that either.
That is my only criticism of the event. It was advertised as having category prizes which would lead one to assume that the usual categories would apply but in this case they didn't. They only had one O/40 prize and one O/50 prize (M&F) which considering that it cost 10 Euro to enter was very mean and bad value for money.
