East Cork Track and Field
The East Cork Track and Field took place on the CIT Track on Bank Holiday Monday. We were well represented by Ger O'Regan who was making his debut on the track where he performed very well indeed. Ger came 4th in the 1500m and 2nd in the 800m O/45. Fantastic results for the first time ever on the track which is a totally different discipline from the road. Super well done Ger may it be the first of many.
Cork City Marathon
We saw some great running out there today with Edwin Cashman doing better than he predicted and clocking 2.09.59 ( see photo below We have now discovered that he had help)and Brendan Curtin also having a great run. Peter Gunning and daughter Sineád must also be delighted to comfortably break the 4.30 mark. Gillian Bransfield also had a class run smiling all the way and no wonder as she got a PB and any day you get a PB is a good day. The true spirit of our club was shown once again when Paul Geary hit an early wall and was ably assisted by Fionan O'hAodain.
All reports speak of the amazing support given by our club members all around the course once again showing that as a club we are there to support each other whether running or cheering each other on.
We had some very fine runs also in the half marathon and the relays details to follow.
In true sporting tradition we say very well done to our neighbouring club member Tim O'Donoghue East Cork AC who finished second overall in the marathon.
Well done to all our members who ran and those that supported once again ye did your club proud. MAC Abú

Training
Some few shots from our Monday nights training sessions on grass in the Cricket Field showing the great work and happy faces of the athletes. Training and speed work on grass is so much better for the body than constant pounding the road which only lines the physiotherapist's pockets when you get injured. Everyone is welcome to any of our training sessions and you can try out for FREE with no obligation to join. All levels are catered for at these sessions by qualified and experienced coaches.
Other sessions are Wed .6.30 Co Op door. Thursday 9pm Co Op door. Loads of other sessions are organised to suit all levels and availability over the weekend by What's App. groups.
